About the Alberta Humanist Association
We believe religion should be separated from our government and public services and individuals should have freedom of and from religion. Secularism is an essential element in a cohesive society where all citizens religious or not are valued equally.

Our Mission
The Alberta Humanist Association is a provincial nonpartisan educational and advocacy organization dedicated to advancing the separation of religion and government and campaigning for equal respect for everyone's human rights so that no one is either advantaged or disadvantaged on account of their beliefs.
Make a stand for freedom, fairness and human rights by adding your voice to the call for a secular democracy.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
We envision our province and our nation where everyone can freely choose a faith and support it voluntarily, or follow no religious or spiritual path at all, and where the government does not promote religion over non-religion or favor one faith over another.
The wall of separation between religion and state protects us all. It makes our province and our country fairer, more equal and more inclusive.

Our Vision

It's time to
rethink religion
and belief
in public life.
